Island School of Music – Terms of Service

Section A: Introduction

 

 

Welcome to Island School of Music. These Terms of Service govern all music lessons provided by Island School of Music in Isle of Dogs. By registering for lessons or using our website, you agree to these terms.

 

 

 

 

Section B: Services Provided

 

 

• We offer lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano, singing, and other instruments based on demand.

• Lessons are available in 30-minute and 1-hour durations.

• All lessons are taught by DBS-checked and insured teachers.

• Lesson availability may depend on teacher schedules and student demand.

 

 

 

 

 

Section C: Registration and Payments

 

 

• Registration is via our online form.

• All lessons are paid monthly via bank transfer; cash is not accepted.

• Payment must be made before the start of each month. Lessons will not be provided unless payment has been received in advance.

• Trial lessons are free and last 30 minutes.

  • Students wishing to trial multiple instruments may request a 1-hour trial.

Section D: Lesson Policies

 

 

• Lessons are scheduled in advance at mutually agreed times.

• Rescheduling must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.

• If a student is not present during the allotted lesson time, the lesson is forfeited.

• If a teacher is sick, we may provide a substitute teacher. If no substitute is available, a refund may be issued.

• If a student is unwell, we may request the lesson be conducted online.

• Teacher Discretion: If a teacher does not feel comfortable continuing with a student for any reason, Island School of Music reserves the right to cancel all future lessons immediately. In this case, a refund will be issued for the remaining lessons after the last lesson provided.

 

 

 

 

 

Section E: Student / Parent Responsibilities

 

 

• Parents/guardians must provide a safe environment for at-home lessons.

• Parents are responsible for supervising younger students where appropriate.

• Prompt communication regarding cancellations, rescheduling, or absences is expected.

 

 

 

 

 

Section F: Refunds and Cancellations

 

 

• No refunds are offered for missed lessons except if the teacher is sick and no substitute can be provided.

• Lessons can be rescheduled if notice is given at least 48 hours in advance.

• Lessons missed without proper notice are forfeited.

• Refunds will be issued if lessons are canceled under Teacher Discretion (see Section D).

 

 

 

 

 

Section G: Liability

 

 

• Island School of Music is not liable for accidents or injuries that occur during lessons at home.

• Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring a safe learning environment.

 

 

 

 

 

Section H: Privacy and Data Protection

 

 

• We collect student and parent information to manage lessons and communicate effectively.

• All personal information is handled confidentially and will not be shared with third parties.

 

 

 

 

 

Section I: Termination

 

 

• Either party may terminate the agreement at any time by providing written notice.

• Any lessons already paid for are non-refundable, except as noted in Section F.

 

 

 

 

 

Section J: Changes to Terms

 

 

• Island School of Music reserves the right to update these Terms of Service.

• Changes will be communicated via email or website update.
